Meat diet had and still has an important role in the evolutionary success of the human species. Gathering of meat by hunting, encouraged the use of tools and language development through which hunters could interact. Researchers from the University of Lund, Sweden, built a mathematical model and identified another important benefit of meat diet – it reduced the period of breastfeeding, causing an increase in human population.
